Ethical Statement on Publishing and good Editorial Practices

The REVISTA CIENTIFICA de la Facultad de Ciencias Veterinarias of the University of Zulia RC-FCV, (p-ISSN 0798-2259 and e-ISNN 2521-9715) attached to the Research Division is committed to the scientific community to guarantee the ethics and quality of the articles published. Our journal refers to the Code of Conduct and Good Practices defined by the Committee on Ethics in Publications (COPE) for editors, authors and arbitrators of scientific journals in general and voluntarily adheres to the Scopus framework: Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement requirements. At the same time, it guarantees an adequate response to the needs of readers and authors, ensuring the quality of the published, protecting and respecting the content of the articles, as well as the integrity of the articles.

 RESPONSIBILITIES OR BEHAVIOR OF THE PUBLISHER OR PUBLISHER

  • Take care of impartiality both in the receipt of the articles and in the failure of the evaluation.
  • Act at all times with adherence to the editorial criteria and the editorial line.
  • The academic review of the articles is governed by the blind peer system, so the magazine is committed to taking care of the anonymity of authors and reviewers.
  • The REVISTA CIENTIFICA de la Facultad de Ciencias Veterinarias is funded by public resources and adheres to the open access philosophy; therefore, its content is not for commercial purposes, which is guaranteed at all times by the director (editor or editor), the editorial committee and the advisory committee respectively.
  • Consequently, the editorial team is in a willingness to clarify doubts to authors and reviewers in the process of evaluating and editing in the heat of the development of their specific activities in accordance with the parameters of our editorial policy.
  • The editor or publisher guarantees that he/she will disclose the outcome of the opinion process (arbitration) exclusively to the authors or author.
  • Plagiarism in any of its expressions or modalities that undermine intellectual property law, individually or collectively, is not accepted by Political Issues; in this sense, articles are evaluated with specialized duplicate content detection software. Any case detected will involve the rejection of the article, which will be notified to the authors or author of the article, accompanied by a detailed report, and will not be given the possibility to postulate another manuscript in the journal.
  • Where required, the journal shall make public the relevant and necessary clarifications and corrections.

Authors and Author Responsibilities

  • Authors must ensure that the articles are the product of their original work as researchers and that the data presented has been obtained ethically, so they must send the originality letter and ensure that they do not infringe copyright.
  • The article may not be submitted in whole or in part to another publication.
  • Authors may not postulate redundant publications, so two or more documents share the same data, hypotheses, discussion points or conclusions.
  • Those co-authored work should have a justification that expresses the full consensus of adherence to the research guidelines of all the authors involved.
  • Authors must ensure strict adherence and acceptance to the editorial criteria established by REVISTA CIENTIFICA de la Facultad de Ciencias Veterinarias.
  • It is the obligation of authors to respect the authorship of each and every source that has been used in the elaboration of their article; therefore, you must provide the exact data of bibliographic, hemerographic, electronic or other references, as well as the method and data collection techniques that made your work possible. You also agree not to omit any significant material.
  • Address editorial and academic observations and opinions in a timely and clear manner. Where for various reasons it does not agree with the criteria and observations made by the arbitrators, always made with the aim of improving the article, its position should be justified in writing to the publisher, who is the competent authority to say that it is most convenient in each case for the interests of the magazine, under the assumption that the evaluators are not always right.    
  • Incurring any misconduct to the above points constitutes unethical and unacceptable conduct; therefore, the proposed article will be deleted and not considered for publication. Likewise, the author may not be considered for any activity related to the magazine.

 REVIEWERS or ARBITRATORS

  • They must commit to maintaining the confidentiality of information related to the items they evaluate.
  • They may not make any kind of dissemination or distribution of the information presented in the article that they evaluate until the moment it is published by the journal.
  • They undertake to carry out their opinion in an objective, impartial, responsible and rigorous manner.
  • Demonstrate willingness to clarify doubts and all compliance-related matters at each stage of the arbitration or evaluation process.
  • By incurring any missed points, the magazine reserves the right to revoke its membership in the arbitrators' portfolio.

Finally, it should be emphasized that the REVISTA CIENTIFICA de la Facultad de Ciencias Veterinarias defends an editorial policy of open access to its content, based on the principle that offering the public free access to research helps to greater global exchange of knowledge and enriches the scientific and cultural heritage of humanity as a whole.
