Arthritis and gut microbiota dysbiosis
Resumen
El estudio de la microbiota desde el inicio de este siglo ha permitido conocer mejor sus características e interrelación con el huésped, y los mecanismos por los que esta favorece o perjudica su salud. Esto ha fortalecido de una manera más clara las hipótesis que datan del siglo XIX en donde se proponía a los microorganismos como causantes de enfermedad autoinmune. En esta revisión se expondrán algunos de los datos que apoyan la alteración de la microbiota, llamada disbiosis con el desarrollo y mayor severidad de artritis reumatoide (AR), y de cómo la renovación del equilibrio de la microbiota mediante estrategias terapéuticas ha demostrado ser favorable en el control de la enfermedad articular.
