Abstract
This paper analizes the undergraduate academic offerings of the best
positioned universities in each country, out of the 20 make up the
area. Methodologically, the selection was based on the triangulation
of information contained in three of the most internationally renowned
classifiers. The profiles and curricular net of 52 Communication and
Journalism courses were examined, 16 of which are concentrated
in the Development and Social Change (CDSC). In each case, their
representativeness was determined. Four main thematic areas were
identified, where it can be seen there is a curricular dispersion, as well
as some gap and disagreements with the most current trends in scientific
production. We conclude, however, the empirical evidence offers a
satisfactory overview, with a generalized offer whose weight in training
is significant.
