The student discourse on the day of the reopening of the University of Zulia
Abstract
This research work serves as a presentation of Number 41 of the Journal of the University of Zulia, a scientific publication that is part of the historical heritage of this university institution, which is why it is attached to the Free History Chair of the University of Zulia. The objective of the article is to identify the political vision of the speech delivered by Bachelor José Antonio Borjas, during the reopening of the University of Zulia, on October 1, 1946. The reopening of this university implied a whole historical process, whose background involves the time of the Hispanic colonization, extending until the foundation of the National College of Maracaibo, installed on April 19, 1837, being the most immediate antecedent for the creation and installation of the University of Zulia, on September 11, 1891. Among the The conclusions highlight the coincidence present in the student speech delivered by the bachelor José Antonio Borjas in the act of the Reopening of the University of Zulia, with the speech of the Rector Jesús Enrique Lossada, where both valued the reinstatement of the university as an achievement of the Revolution of October 18, 1945 in Venezuela.
