Sedimentary: Poetics of Accumulation
Abstract
This project is the production of a series of two-dimensional plastic works where the accumulation strategy is the axis of the proposal, from different facets of this phenomenon and how it is integrated into the creative process and its product. We experiment with these ideas: the morphological structure of the sedimentary elements (geology), the connection between elements of different processes (procedural accumulation), the compulsive accumulation as a strategy of plastic creation (psychology) and the construction of memory implicit in the accumulation. This project is of an exploratory and empirical nature, being the artistic practice the main tool to produce this particular model of knowledge that is the work of art. It focuses theoretically from: the entropy of processes, the phenomenology of time and the poetics of memory, from philosophical, scientific and art theory texts. The research has contributed to the personal artistic proposal the paradigm of “No order”, as a principle of recognition of the marginal and borderline
