Abstract

Green Jay (Cyanocorax yncas) is one of the most widespread corvids in America, it is characterized by occupying a wide diversity of habitats, like humid montane forests and secondary forests, borders, plantations, ecotones and disturbed areas. This note reports an unusual record of C. yncas at sea level, in a wooded area on the banks along the river in Chichiriviche de la Costa (La Guaira, Venezuela), on July 14, 2022. The presence of six individuals 1.2 km from the seashore is summarized, for a period of approximately one hour and a half moving and vocalizing among the branches.
