  • STATEMENT OF ETHICS AND BEST PRACTICES

    EDITORIALS

    In order to ensure proper compliance with the rules and policies of Quorum Académico, regarding ethics in research and publications, as well as common considerations and misconduct, this document establishes the criteria to be taken into account by the main actors in the process of submission, review, double-blind evaluation and publication of articles, as well as their main responsibilities.

    These aspects are governed by the international standards published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). In turn, it is based on the best practices guide for editors of scientific journals and the Publication Ethics Resource Kit (PERK), developed by the Elsevier publishing group, in order to ensure transparency both in the publication of contributions and in the associated conflict resolution procedures..

    Editor

    Person in charge of selecting the articles, essays, interviews and reviews that will be submitted to the double-blind evaluation process and that, possibly, will be published in the different editions of Quórum Académico, in addition to enforcing the rules, standards and policies established for this purpose.

    The Editor will be responsible for

    • Elaborating and providing policies and guidelines for authors and peer reviewers (jurors).

    • evaluators (jurors).

    • Elaborating, reviewing and ensuring guidelines for the preparation and submission of articles.

    • Ensuring compliance with established procedures.

      • Decide whether or not to accept the submission or publication of an article.

      • Appoint peer reviewers (jurors) for the articles.

      • Communicate to the authors the results of the double-blind review and evaluation process.

      • Communicate to authors and peer reviewers (jurors) the ethical considerations to be taken into account during the double-blind review and evaluation process.

      • Maintain the confidentiality of the authors and peer reviewers (jurors).

      • To ensure ethical, objective, honest and transparent behavior during all stages of the process.

      • Chair, coordinate and guide the members of the Editorial Committee.

      • To summon the Editorial Committee to face-to-face or virtual meetings.

      • To act as the main responsible for the editorial process of the articles submitted to the journal.

      • Manage the "Quórum Académico" space in OJS and ensure its proper functioning.

      • Manage the journal's web page.

      • Manage the logistical aspects of the journal.

       

      Peer evaluators (juries)

      Persons in charge of the double-blind evaluation and review of the articles submitted to the review process. Upon completion of the review process, the peer reviewers (jurors) must return to the editor the complete evaluation of the document, with their respective suggestions for acceptance or rejection, and the corresponding recommendations for improvement.

      The peer reviewers (jurors) will be responsible for:

  • Prepare and send to the editor the comments and objective observations made to the article, so that they are constructive and contribute to its improvement.

  • Avoid personal comments or subjective criticism.

  • Maintain confidentiality about the content, review and results of the double-blind evaluation.

  • Ensure that there is no fraud or any type of ethical misconduct in the articles.

  • Notify the editor of any ethical misconduct.

  • Comply with the rules established by Quórum Académico in order to guarantee the achievement and accomplishment of each process related to the arbitration.

  • Avoid discussing, commenting or sharing any type of information during or after the double-blind review and evaluation process.

    It must be ensured that:

  • Comply with the standards established by Quórum Académico, so that they can adequately comply with the process of review and double-blind evaluation of articles, analyzing and criticizing objectively.

  • Be experts with knowledge and experience related to the subject of the article to be evaluated.

  • Do not meet the authors before or during the double-blind review and appraisal process. The double-blind review and evaluation process requires that the authors and peer reviewers (jurors) do not know each other at any stage of the process, so neither the authors know who the peer reviewers (jurors) are, nor the peer reviewers (jurors) know who the authors are, which guarantees impartiality and objectivity during the process.

  • Thoroughly review the content of the article, to ensure its relevance, importance and originality.o, essay, review or interview of a scientific or informative nature.

    Authors

    They are all those who make intellectual contributions in the form of an article, essay, review or interview of a scientific or informative nature. When submitting an article to Quórum Académico, authors are responsible for:

  • Maintain the quality, relevance and independence of the submitted text

  • Avoid fraud related to fabrication, falsification and plagiarism in the proposal, execution and communication of research results.

  • Avoid undue experimentation with or on animals and humans.

  • Guarantee that the article is original and of their own authorship.

  • Avoid simultaneous submissions or duplicate publication.

  • Properly reference the texts consulted and used to prepare the article, as property of other authors, by acknowledging and granting the corresponding authorship.

  • Explicitly state the names and affiliations of the persons who are considered authors, as well as the precise order in which they should be named in the article. ¬The order should respond to the contributions made during the development of the research, in terms of information gathering, analysis, elaboration of conclusions and recommendations, and elaboration, revision and submission of the article. Other collaborators, participants or advisors, who have not been involved in the process of elaboration of the article, can be mentioned in the acknowledgements section.

  • Sign the copyright assignment document.

     

    Editorial Committee

    The Editorial Committee of the journal Quórum Académico is an organ of direction and support of the publication. The responsibilities of each of the members of the Editorial Committee are specified below:

  • Advise in the definition of contents, policies and aspects related to the Quality of the space destined for the journal in OJS.

  • Ensure compliance with the policies and processes of the journal's space in OJS.

  • Review and approve the lines of interest and the scope of the journal's space in OJS.

  • Invite faculty, researchers, practitioners, editors, and other members recognized in the field of project development and management to participate in the activities of the OJS journal space.

  • Advise in the selection of articles for publication in the journal's OJS space.

  • Assist in the promotion of published articles and, in general, of the journal's space in OJS.

  • Advise on the procurement of peer reviewers (jurors) for the double- blind evaluation of articles.

  • Ensure compliance with ethical aspects and transparency.

  • Attend meetings of the Editorial Committee.

  • Define the cover image.

  • Participate in the review and approve the issue of the journal before publication.

  • Ensure compliance with the ethical standards of publication established by the journal Quórum Académico.

    Common ethical misconduct

  • Plagiarism: publishing a text, which has been the result of other people's work, as one's own and without giving them proper acknowledgement, through the use of quotations or references.

  • Fabrication: creation, tabulation, presentation and publication of data that are not real.

  • Falsification: modifying or manipulating data or procedures for the purpose of presenting the desired results.

  • Duplication or self-plagiarism: publishing, in two or more different media, the entire content or a representative part of the structure and content of an article, regardless of the medium in which it is published (magnetic or paper). The article is considered to have been duplicated if it does not contribute new knowledge to the subject under discussion.

  • Conflict of interest: when any of the authors has a personal or financial relationship with the editor or any of the peer reviewers (jurors) of the articles, which may influence the outcome of the process regarding the acceptance or rejection of an article.

  • Violation of the right to privacy and confidentiality: individuals, groups of individuals, and organizations in general, have the right to privacy and confidentiality regarding data collected in research. Authors should make proper use of sensitive data, such as their names, contact information, titles, opinions, etc. Unless it is absolutely necessary and the participant has given formal authorization, participants' data should be handled confidentially.

To avoid committing these serious offenses, it is important that the authors have thoroughly researched the research topic, know its particularities and variants, and adequately reference information from other sources.

In the case of citations, whether direct or indirect, the authors should follow the citation protocols set forth in the rules for the presentation of papers provided by the journal Quórum Académico.

In case plagiarism is detected in any of the articles submitted to Quórum Académico, the Editorial Committee will immediately cancel the review process and double-blind evaluation of the document, notifying those responsible. Articles from the authors involved will not be accepted in the future.
