Journal history

Dr. Jesús Enrique Lossada, after working tirelessly until achieving the reopening of the University of Zulia, on October 1, 1946, contributed to this institution its first scientific journal: the Journal of the University of Zulia, founded by this distinguished Zulia, on May 31, 1947. In its Third Epoch, which began in September 2010, the journal maintains the orientation assigned to it by its founder: it is a scientific body for the dissemination of partial or definitive works by researchers and / or research teams domestic and foreign. The journal has a multidisciplinary nature, therefore its theme is divided into three main axes: a. social sciences and art; b. agricultural sciences, engineering and technology; c. exact, natural and health sciences. Its publication is quarterly. Each number, of the three of the year, corresponds to one of the three thematic axes. The Journal of the University of Zulia, due to its historical and patrimonial nature, is attached to the Free Chair of History of the University of Zulia.

The management of the JOURNAL OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ZULIA has been in the hands of distinguished academic figures, all of them linked to the history of the University of Zulia. The editors of the magazine in the first and second periods of its history (1947-1952; 1958-1977) were the professors:

As of September 2010, the journal reappears in a third period, with the support of the Free History Chair of the University of Zulia.
