Jesús Enrique Lossada: Master Rector of the reopening of the University of Zulia. Apropos the 75th anniversary of the Revista de la Universidad del Zulia
Abstract
The general objective of this paper is to analyze the Master Rector of the reopening of the Universidad del Zulia, Doctor Jesus Enrique Lossada, in his capacity as Editor of the Journal of Universidad del Zulia from the historical process which supports the reopening of the University and the founding of the magazine above. The following were detected in this historical process: a) communication and diffusion of the academic activities in the institutional background that preceded the installation of the University on September 11, 1891; b) the continuity of the same in the operation of its opening; c) the vision and mission of the reopening of the University in the search for its permanence and integral development. By analyzing the historical process of communication and information of academic activities, it can be sustained that the foundation of the Journal of the Universidad del Zulia is a contribution of Rector Lossada. He values the scientific projection in its social dimension and thus overcomes the traditional mission of remaining isolated from the social context.
